The Malina Chalets are located 1.5 km or 20 minutes walk from the centre of the resort and are surrounded by lovely, venerable conifers in a calm and peaceful area. The possibility of accommodating more people in two separate bedrooms makes the chalets suitable for bigger families and groups. Accommodation & Facilities
The complex has 28 comfortable Polish style, wooden two-storey houses. Chalets can accommodate six guests, four at the second floor, and two in the living room on the first floor, one in the bed and one on the folding sofa. All the chalets are equipped with cable television and kitchen equipment. Guests are welcome in the Yagoda restaurant, situated less than 100 meters from the complex offering excellent cuisine and drinks. Transport and organized mountain tours with a licensed mountain guide, as well as visits to close cultural and historical sights are available. Excursions and hikes in Rila Mountain are offered such as Castle Tsarska Bistrica, Chernata Skala (Black Rock), Maliovitsa Peak (2729 meters), The Seven Rila Lakes, Mousala Peak (2925 m), Eco-paths, Rila Monastery, hunting and fishing, horse-riding, hikes for professionals and picnics for nature lovers, eco-paths, photo safari and off road. Also playgrounds for handball, volleyball, badminton, street ball and the possibility for hiring tennis courts are offered. The complex also has a mini shop, car parking, safe deposit box, telephone, sauna, barbeque and wooden charcoal and bicycle hire.
Location
Borovetz is the oldest winter resort in Bulgaria and the biggest ski centre, situated at 1350 m above the sea level, among venerable conifers, in the skirts of the highest peak on the Balkan Peninsula ? Peak Mousala (2925 metres). The climate of the resort is temperate: the winter is mild with many snowfalls. This makes Borovetz a perfect place for winter sports and vacation.
Ski Facts
Borovetz is located at 1350 above sea level (with the highest runs at 2600m), on the Northern slopes of Rila mountain. The resort has facilities for skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, ski jumps and biathlon, ski-doo, etc, and has twice hosted World Cup competitions in Alpine skiing. Its biathlon track is one of the best in Europe. Usually the slopes of Borovetz have permanent snow cover from December to April.
There are ski runs available for beginners, intermediates and advanced skiers, designed with international markings and multilingual signs. Runs are groomed to the highest standards. The ski runs of Borovetz are located in three different areas. Cross-country and biathlon tracks are located 2km away from the resort together with the cross-country tuition tracks. The runs for the ski jumps are 75m and 50m long and are serviced by a chair lift. New snow cannons for artificial snow are also provided in Borovetz. The ski patrol provides 24 hour emergency service.
