Fantastic scenery and rugged countryside. One of the more remote areas of New Zealand's South island. Haast is a favourite of those wanting to get away from the main tourist destinations. The hotel has its own heli-pad and an airstrip across the road. The majority of guests arrive either by car or by coach. SE0307.
A single storey building, designed to minimise the impact on the pristine local environment.
Following a refurbishment programme in 2004 the standard rooms are now very well presented. All rooms are ensuite and centrally heated. All have TV's and in house video channels, tea/coffee making facilties. All rooms are shower only because of the remote location.
The Waitoto Restaurant provides a 3 course buffet dinner every night during the high season. In the low season meals are provided to the request of the guests. There is also a house bar, cosy and defnitiely a place to relax, unwind and let the West Coast hospitality take over.
A medium sized functional lobby.
Next to the State Highway and the Haast River. Within the World Heritage area and at the lower end of the Southern Alps.
